Pumpkin Paddle (Guided)

Start your Halloween weekend on the Haw River! For this guided adventure bring your own carved Jack O’lantern that we’ll attach to the boats. Late October allows the maximum color and scenery of the Haw. Guides lead paddlers around a flatwater leisurely loop, leading to an eerie stillness as darkness descends upon the river.

The woods and trees along the Saxapahaw Lake stretch of the river are wild and vibrant. It’s not too cold, so wildlife abounds (herons, egrets, eagles, owls, turtles…you name it) and each gentle breeze pushes the colorful leaves to fly and float all around.

Get your carved Jack O’lantern all gussied up. Speaking of, we welcome arriving in your own spooky attire! Single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and a bring your own boat option are available. Suitable for all skill levels.
