Summer Camps

HRA Summer Camp

We offer two types of summer camps for ages 10-15; Paddle Camps and Adventure Camps.

Paddlers of all skill levels, including those who have never canoed or kayaked, are welcome. We teach all of the basics of paddling and build confidence in each camper.

Ideally, campers should be confident swimmers by the time camp begins. Campers must wear a PFD (Personal Floatation Device) whenever near or on the river.

Summer Adventure Camp – Full Day

Summer Adventure Camps are designed to engage campers with the outdoors through different on-water and on-land activities. In addition to time spent paddling canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, we hike different sections of trail along the Haw River throughout the week. Campers learn outdoor living skills such as orienteering, fire building, shelter-building, and flora/fauna identification. Strong emphasis is spent on developing teamwork and confidence as campers participate through games and exercises throughout the week.

Full-day Adventure Camp Fee:  $250/week per child

Full-day camps run 9am to 5pm. Drop off and Pick up location will be at our main office in Saxapahaw, (6079 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road)
