Women’s Trips & Classes

We would like to offer more trips and courses just for women and led by women.  Currently, we have three trips that are outlined below and are developing more.   Please let us hear what is of interest to you by either calling 336/260-6465 or sending us an e-mail message to admin@hawrivercanoe.com.

Women’s Enrichment: Journey to Introspection

Join us for Part 1 of our new Women’s Enrichment paddling program, titled Journey to Introspection.  This will be a guided open discussion on getting to know yourself, recognizing personal attributes that help us in our everyday busy lives. Following the open discussion, there will be a brief stretching exercise and instruction on basic paddling techniques.  We will then journey on a flat-water section of the Haw River for a 2 1/2 to 3 hour paddle to explore the wonders that the beautiful river provides. Keep your eyes open and your schedules clear for Part 2 of the series titled, Women in Work: Achieving the Proper Balance.

Fee: $35 per person with a canoe/kayak provided, $30 per person with your own boat.

Next dates: Please call 336-260-6465 to check availbility for this trip.

Mother-Daughter Paddle

In need of some mother-daughter bonding time?  The Haw River can be a great place to have an adventure to share and enjoy.  In addition to developing paddling skills, the aim of this trip is to have fun, get some exercise and experience Nature together.  No previous paddling experience necessary.

Fee:  $35.00 per person with the canoe/kayak provided, $30 per person with your own boat.

Next dates: Please call 336-260-6465 to check availbility for this trip.

Women’s Evening Paddle

Sometimes, you need to escape the stress of busy schedules, get away from it all and enjoy a peaceful, refreshing evening. That’s the idea behind the Women’s Evening Paddle, where your female river guide leads a “women only” group. The goal is to become rejuvenated through movement on the water, observing nature and enjoying the river in a group setting.

This 2.5-hour river trip begins while egrets and great blue herons begin their evening rest, and concludes with time to discuss what is important in life. It’s a unique trip designed by women for women.   After paddling, guests will find several great venues in our small village to enjoy a post paddle meal, drink, or social!

Fee: $35 per person with a canoe/kayak provided, $30 per person with your own boat.
