Haw River Book Club

Do you like to read? Do you like to talk about books you read? Do you like to paddle? Have you been thinking you should combine all these things? Then the 2018 Haw River Book Club is exactly what you have been looking for. Over the course of the summer we will read three books on our own time, and then meet at the river to discuss what we have read.

This will be a 2 to 3-hour trip for paddlers of all skill levels and ages. We will paddle up river at a relaxed pace and will “raft-up” and chat about the book, in a discussion facilitated by the guide. Please feel free to bring snacks and drinks with you to enjoy on the river. After paddling, guests will find several great venues in our small village to enjoy a post paddle meal, drink, or social if you want to keep the discussion going!

So, go visit your local bookstore or library and pick up a copy of the book club book!

Our first book will be “The Nature Fix” by Florence Williams.  The second book will be “The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain.  The third book will be determined.  Check back for updates.  We will have the book posted soon.

Fee: $35 per person with a canoe or kayak provided, $30 per person with your own boat.
